Carry sufficient Nepali rupees. ATMs are unavailable above Namche Bazaar and card payments are rarely accepted on the trail.
Available at most tea houses for a small fee. Bring a 10,000 mAh+ power bank — power cuts are common at altitude.
Alcohol accelerates dehydration and significantly increases your risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) above 3,500 m.
The golden rule: walk slowly, drink 3–4 litres of water daily. Never rush — proper acclimatization is non-negotiable.
Allow 1–2 extra days for Lukla flight delays caused by unpredictable mountain weather. Very common in shoulder season.
Your policy must cover helicopter evacuation up to 6,000 m. This is life-critical — do not skip it.
